The institute developed a cement water-reducing agent through chemical modification of waste foam, which saved 20% of cement mortar mixing water consumption, and also increased concrete strength by 38%. According to him, the annual demand for water reducer in cement concrete mixing in China is as high as 2 million tons, so the industrialization of this technology is promising.

The newly formed company is jointly funded by the Guangzhou Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liwan District Productivity Promotion Center, and Guangzhou Light Industry Raw Materials Guangzhou Company. The Chinese Academy of Sciences' chemical investment in intellectual property is estimated at 1 million yuan.
