Germany introduces easy-to-identify packaging laser printing ink

Information on product packaging, such as shelf life, price, bar code, place of production or instructions for use, etc., need to meet more and more packaging requirements. In the past, white or other light-colored packaging, laser printing code is difficult to see, and sometimes only some high-end equipment can be used. Recently, the latest development of laser printing inks from Siegwerk Germany solved this problem.

The laser-readable signature is generated by the interaction of the CO2 laser and the laser-sensitive ink Datalase(R) pigment. This code has a permanent and high-quality performance, strong resistance to light and temperature and instrument readability, especially for packaging of food, medicine, tobacco and other products. This laser-sensitive ink is the result of a collaboration between Siegwerk, Germany, STI, a packaging manufacturer, and Domino, a laser technology company.

Germany's Siegwerk is the third largest ink producer in the world, with many inventions and patented products, and annual sales of approximately 830 million euros. Siegwerk is a global leader in packaging and gravure printing inks.
